BIOGRAPHY
William Bradley Pitt was the oldest of three children born to Bill and Jane Pitt. His father was a trucking company manager, and his mother was a high school counselor. He grew up in Springfield, Missouri and graduated from Kickappo High School. He majored in journalism and advertising at the University of Missouri, but he quit his senior year just two credit shy of a degree to pursue a career in acting. He spent the next couple of years driving limousines as a chauffeur for strippers, delivering refrigerators, and wearing a chicken suit for the restaurant, El Pollo Loco.
His first acting jobs were on the television soaps DALLAS and ANOTHER WORLD. His big screen debut was in the slasher film CUTTING CLASS. His big break came, however, in the role of J.D. in THELMA & LOUISE. He received critical acclaim for his performances in THE DEVIL'S OWN and SEVEN YEARS IN TIBET and an Academy Award nomination for his role in TWELVE MONKEYS. He won a Golden Globe for the role. His physical attributes have won him just as much critical acclaim as his acting abilities. He was named "The Sexiest Man Alive" by People Magazine.
Pitt currently lives in Los Angeles, California and owns land in the Ozark Mountains.
